Common questions
My pokes (notifications) aren’t showing up
- Open iOS Settings › Notifications › Brain Tickler and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
- In Brain Tickler, open Settings (the gear) and check that Pokes is on.
- Check quiet hours in Brain Tickler’s Settings. Pokes that fall inside quiet hours wait until they end.
- Soft Tickles are delivered quietly on purpose: no sound, straight to Notification Center.
- Open Brain Tickler now and then. iOS limits how many reminders an app can line up in advance, and opening the app tops them up.
Focus mode is hiding my reminders
Super Tickles are sent as Time Sensitive notifications, so they can get through a Focus if you allow it:
- Settings › Notifications › Brain Tickler › turn on Time Sensitive Notifications.
- Settings › Focus › (your Focus) › Apps › turn on Time Sensitive Notifications, or add Brain Tickler to the allowed apps.
Soon and Soft Tickles follow your Focus settings like any other app.
Where are my tickles stored?
Only on your iPhone. There’s no account and no cloud sync, so deleting the app deletes your tickles. Restoring your iPhone from a backup usually brings them back.
The iPhone app doesn’t sync with the Brain Tickler web app or with other devices.
Why can’t I skip or keep snoozing a Super Tickle?
Super Tickles are your must-dos. They stay on your list (and show as overdue) until you mark them done, and you get two short snoozes per round. Soon and Soft Tickles can be skipped, and a missed one rolls on to its next time.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
